ANS- Radiotherapy is a treatment that uses strong beams of energy to kill cancer cells. When someone has cancer, tiny bad cells grow inside their body. Radiotherapy helps to stop these bad cells from growing and spreading.
Q-HOW IT WORKS?
ANS- During radiotherapy, a machine sends special rays called radiation directly to the area where the cancer is. This radiation works like a tiny, powerful light that can damage the cancer cells. When the cancer cells get hurt by the radiation, they cannot grow or divide anymore, so they slowly die. The treatment is usually done in a hospital or clinic. The patient lies on a bed, and the machine moves around to aim the radiation carefully at the cancer. The machines are very accurate, so they try to avoid healthy parts of the body as much as possible to keep side effects low.

ANS- Breast cancer, cervical cancer, head and neck cancers, rectal cancer, skin cancer, endometrium cancer, brain tumours, skin cancers and many more. Also used in palliative settings.

ANS- Modern radiotherapy uses advanced imaging, smarter dose delivery (IMRT/VMAT), high-precision methods (SRS/SBRT), and newer particles (protons) to maximize tumor control while minimizing toxicity to normal organs.
